Polaroid 600 Film Simulation
Polaroid 600 was the wild card of instant photography – unpredictable, characterful and beloved for exactly that reason. Its response to different lighting conditions produced wildly varied colour hues and tonal moods, making every shot a surprise. From the 1980s through the early 2000s it became a pop culture icon, its imperfections inseparable from its charm.
This Polaroid 600 film simulation was crafted with technical accuracy as the starting point – faithfully recreating the film’s desaturation, colour darkening and the enigmatic dark blue or dark green undertones that emerge depending on the colour bands in your image.
For the most authentic result, pair the grade with the included fading and grain effects. Further fine-tuning in Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw – reducing texture and clarity – completes the vintage atmosphere and captures the soft, slightly degraded quality that made Polaroid prints so distinctive.
This is not a subtle grade. It is a character grade – best embraced fully rather than applied lightly.
