Kodachrome 25 Film Simulation
There are film stocks, and then there is Kodachrome 25. Few photographic materials have shaped the visual language of the 20th century more profoundly – from National Geographic covers to Steve McCurry’s Afghan Girl, Kodachrome 25 produced images that defined what colour photography could be.
Kodak’s confidence in this film was absolute. They built dedicated processing facilities worldwide, all running the same patented K14 chemistry – a process so precise and so proprietary that no other lab could replicate it. When Kodachrome was finally discontinued in 2010, photographers mourned not just a film but an entire aesthetic era.
This Kodachrome 25 film simulation was developed using McCurry’s body of work as its primary reference – his images representing the pinnacle of what the film could achieve in expert hands. The grade captures Kodachrome’s signature characteristics: vibrant, saturated colour with an underlying sense of depth and mystery, shadows that sit darker than expected without tipping into blue or purple, and a tonal richness that digital photography has never quite managed to replicate on its own.
The result is the most faithful digital recreation of Kodachrome 25 we could achieve – one that works across a wide range of subjects and lighting conditions, and serves as the ideal foundation for stacking other grades in the collection.
If you are only ever going to use one grade from ANDP FilmStyles, make it this one.
Available as a CUBE LUT, XMP profile and ICC profile – compatible with Lightroom, Capture One, DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop.

Absolute perfection. I’ve had a vision for my photos and I’ve finally been able to nail down the look and *every* photo comes out perfect. Can’t thank the creator of these enough!!

Hello Monika! Thank you so much for your review! K25 (K14) was the single reason I started this whole collection, and by far my most used film simulation too. I know it can stand the test of time and that’s the most important. Hope you have a blast with it!

Great preset, and the use on capture one is a big plus.
