August 2026 Update

August 2026 Update

With summer almost at an end, and after a couple of months of radio silence on our part, it feels like an update is in order.

A lot of work has been happening behind the scenes. We are a small team taking on ambitious projects, so pushing them forward requires time and focus.

Let’s look at what we have completed and what is coming next.

Color Lab 1.3.4

Our LUT-to-ICC converter has finally received its RAW workflow. Color Lab can now combine a LUT with a Capture One camera .icm profile, allowing users to apply their LUTs directly to their camera profiles within Capture One.

This feature was added following multiple requests. Color Lab 1.3.4 has now been stable for at least two months without any reported bugs, which gives us confidence that the application has reached a mature and reliable state.

Portra Update and Legacy Version

When our Portra simulations were originally developed, the reference images leaned heavily towards warm colour casts. As a result, the simulations were intentionally shifted towards a warmer palette, with particular emphasis on “creamy highlights.”

Portra has become one of our most successful simulations, so changing something that already works, and that many people love, is not a decision we take lightly. However, an update is needed to bring the simulation closer to the character of real Portra film.

For those who prefer the existing look, the original simulation will remain available as a legacy version.

The Portra update is coming in September 2026 and will be free for everyone who has previously purchased Portra.

The Khroma Project

Hear, hear! This is probably the largest project we have ever undertaken.

Khroma initially began as yet another film-simulation application or plugin for existing editing suites. After several iterations, however, we decided that it needed to become fully independent and go completely standalone.

So, what exactly is Khroma?

ANDP FilmStyles Khroma, as it will be officially known, is an image library manager, RAW engine, film-simulation application, and colour-grading tool, all in one. It is a high-performance, full-featured editing application built for photographers.

At this stage, most of the core application has already been completed. We are continuing to refine the interface, recalibrate the editing tools, improve performance, and thoroughly test how every part of the application works together.

We have not yet set an official release date, but we currently expect Khroma to arrive sometime in Q4 2026.

That’s all our news for now. Thank you for reading, and stay tuned!
